DNC - supported controllers - laser welding and inspection system |

This was a complex system and demonstrates the versatility of DNC
in creating difficult control applications. The system is equipped
with a CCD camera which firstly inspects the component to identify
weld points. As sets of lines are identified where welding is
required, they are presented to the operator through the control
interface on a marked up image of the component. The system then
positions these lines beneath the welder and executes a weld
cycle.
The project illustrates the potential for DNC to interface to
other hardware, in this instance CCD camera and frame grabber,
allowing complex processing and control strategies to be
implemented.
