PC-Based Motion Control
DNC is a general purpose program for use in conjunction with PC
based motion controllers for contouring, profiling, and other
robotics applications from 2 axes upwards. Machine configuration
in terms of axes, tools, and input/output is defined dynamically
to the program. DNC has been developed over the past eleven years,
and continues to develop in conjunction with users requirements,
and as relevant hardware and software technology improve. DNC is
used in a wide range of contouring operations, particularly
cutting involving laser, water jet, etc.. An important part of DNC
is its modular design which allows functionality to be added as
additional modules; it is possible, for example, for the creation
of custom user interfaces as a substitute for the standard main
screen shown below. This shows DNC configured for a 4 axis
profiling system for water jet cutting of cylindrical metal
components. |
